IT'S HERE!

is it just me
or is restoration hardware the
quickest shipper? ever.

earlier this week, i shared my new purchase
this lovely floor task lamp....
20th Century Torpedo Task Floor Lamp in Vintage Brass - via
to remind you.
here is my before photo.

and here is the after...

a little closer...

and another with a underwear clad max... trying to look cool.

kinda excited about this lamp.
if you couldn't tell.

it's the perfect match to this lamp
on the other side of the family room.

i'm kinda obsessed with brass lamps!

LIGHT IT UP!

if i haven't made it clear yet.
i love lamps, lights, chandeliers, really anything that gives off light.

for months i've been searching high and low
for the perfect floor task lamp to go in a dark corner of my family room.

to go here (next to the chair)...

i wanted something brass, but not old-fashioned or stuffy.

i loved so many lamps, but the cost was out of my budget.
until i saw this....
via
isn't it lovely?
perfect for my space and even dan likes it... total bonus.

restoration hardware is having a fantastic sale,
you should check it out!
this lamp was marked down to $160 from $230.

i'll share a photo once it arrives!

on a personal note...
why do boys love computers and video games so much?
this is a consistant scene in my kitchen....
don't you love a little boy in underwear? especially toy story underwear!
have a great tuesday!

doing a little happy dance

did you ever walk into a store
with the intention of buy one thing
but
found a screaming deal
and lost your mind all together
and
walked out with said screaming deal
and not the intended item?

ya,
i did that yesterday
at pottery barn
architect's smart technology table lamp - $199 at pottery barn
i guess the brass version is discontinued
and
my local pottery barn "found" two in the back
unpacked them that morning and i snatched one up
and brought her home
 she's gorgeous right?
and
she weighs a TON

this won't be her permanent spot
i have big plans for her in my office
that is
when i finally kick the kids playroom to the basement
and claim the playroom as my office
so until then, she'll reside
next to my favorite z gallerie leather chair
a perfect place for reading & watching the bachelorette
i know
that show is awful, but i can't stop watching
and
that courtney is bat-sh*t crazy
LOVE IT!
so instead of picking up a gallery frame
for the amazing print my hubby gave me for christmas
i brought home her brassy goodness
and totally forgot to even look at the frames

 and the very best part
is
she was 75% off!
heck yes!
how lucky am i?
hope you're having a great day!

switch-a-roo... can light to pendant light

for awhile now i've wanted to hang to pendant lights
over my kitchen island
only problem
i didn't want to hire a electrician

and it seemed complicated to do it myself
(or have my husband do it himself)

it wasn't

dan & i picked up two conversion kits
from home depot for $10 each

i probably could have done the handy-work myself
luckily, i didn't have to
dan did all the heavy lifting

and he transformed this...

to this...

dan tends to dislike electric work
this project went extremely smoothly

like i said, given a few tips from my husband,
i probably could have handled it myself

the instructions were very clear
and the swap-out process was hiccup-free!

hope you're having a great monday!

a sneak peek & a question

i may be
the slowest decorator
ever
in january i purchased a rug from homegoods
then came the sofa

the carlisle sofa from pottery barn

and finally in april we painted the walls
i had home depot match a color i mixed together from different martha stewart samples (to match a color in the rug)
then overtime i slowly added
• curtains
 chairs
 pillows
 some artwork
 a few accessories

now i'm trying to pick out wall sconces
& i'm getting nowhere

i'd like antique brass & a plug in
if they were hardwired
i'd be very limited in re-arranging furniture
& i love to re-arrange (don't we all?)

so here is a sneak peek of my unfinished living room

the sconces will go on either side
of my homegoods mirror

now for my question

which sconce would look best?

option a — boston functional library wall light
circa lighting
option b — weston arc sconce
pottery barn
option c — swivel head wall lamp
circa lighting
option d — griffith swing arm light
circa lighting

here are a 2 hardwired options
just because i love them :)
bryant sconce from circa lighting
ra single wall light from circa lighting

so what do you think?
which sconces do you like?
i need your opinions
& new ideas are welcomed!

have a great day! -e
